Three Birthday Cards

June is always a busy month of birthdays for me. Three birthdays three days in a row. I made the cards in May so I wouldn’t be so pressured when the time came. First up is my oldest sisters birthday. I used Saturated Canary “Sisters & Friends” for both of my sisters which I do not see in her shop anymore. 😦

Bev's B'day

Next is sister Deb’s card.

Deb's B'day

Third is my friend Linda. Her card is “Sybil” from Home Grown – Sugar Nellie. For some reason the minute I saw this image years ago I thought of Linda. So years later I finally make it for her.

Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for awhile. As always, thank you for the love you leave!

Have a great week!

Randy’s Magnolia Paper Bag Mini Album

I wanted to make the guys a special project this year for Christmas. Drew’s project is in the previous post. Randy’s is a Kathy Orta waterfall pocket album. I loved doing these special projects for them. I used SEVEN Magnolia images on it.

The morning I got up to do this project I told myself I was trying all sorts of new things I’d never done before. So I’ll get right to it.

I used Merry Christmas Tilda for the cover. I also used TH mini poinsettia die along with Magnolia’s swirl die. I have watched Zoe’s videos on how to color folds but just didn’t get the hang of it. I have the Magnolia “Sweet Christmas Dreams” 2011 magazine and it has an article in it by Zoe on page 54. I feel the information just clicked for me. So here is my first attempt at folds.

Merry Christmas Tilda

In the first pocket I used Magnolia’s Fir in Snow. I’ve always loved this image. I guess my love of pine trees coming through. My first attempt at night sky. I also used the MS pine needles edge punch on the pocket.

Fir in Snow

Next up are more folds in Tilda’s apron using the Tilda with Christmas Tree.

Tilda with Christmas Tree

Randy always puts the Christmas tree lites on so I had to use Lighting Edwin. More folds on the jeans. I used the large holiday lites punch on the pocket.

Lighting Edwin

For the last pocket I used three images. Tilda with string of glitter, tighter folds, Tilda decorates Christmas tree, I did this image three times grrrrr and the Christmas tree.

Pockets with Images

Thanks for sticking with me on such a long post. The album has two more sets of pages so the album is a work in progress.

Have a wonderful 2013! Thank you for leaving all your wonderful comments they are truly appreciated!

Baby Card For Sydney

By Myrna Irwin

Maddy couldn’t wait to get into the world a month early so her new baby sister had to beat her and come 2 months early! So far, she’s holding her own! We’re soooo excited we are going to see her (and of course the rest of the family) very soon!

I just had a birthday and we went over to Red Rock. A large lake near here. We did a little hiking while there. I found a butterfly that was so willing to have its picture taken.

Page 8 of Book of Favorites!

This could so be me when I was a child. My mom was an avid gardener so we always had flowers growing. I fell in love with Melissa from Sugar Nellie the minute I saw her. Of course, she had to be in my book of favorites! !!

Today has been a good day. A GREAT day would be hubby getting a job. He received an email today they had received 172 applications. They had expected 72! It is TOUGH out there in the job market today. Anyway, on to my good day. Last week I had won a Diana Mini camera from Satured Canary’s blog. I received it in the mail today. After my post I’ll go learn how to use it. I also have a Big Train Raspberry Chai addiction. I had run out and re-ordered some yesterday from a company in New Jersey. I was totally SHOCKED when the UPS man pulled up today at 1! I have never gotten it in 24 hours!

Ok, here’s my newest page for my book.

Anniversary Card & Tag Birthday Card

The Anniversary card is for a friend from Stamp Club who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in May!! Congrats Annette and Dick!! The Birthday tag is for another friend from Stamp Club who is into Tim Holtz. I tried Linda, I really did but I had such a hard time adding lots of things. Also, I REALLY did not intend to have this much orange on it!!! One thing lead to another and it ended up ORANGE!! I love it! 😉

With Annette’s card I was trying the white on white type of card. Tough to do. I had to walk away a number of times and wait for ideas to come. I had to add some pink, as it’s her favorite color. Also, all that stark white was starting to freak me out!

With Linda’s tag I tried the Perfect Pearls on kraft paper but you couldn’t see it very well so that’s why I went to black. A very striking effect!

Book of Favorite Images

Well, we are starting our fourth month of unemployment. I received an email from a cousin which included something I’ve heard all my life. It had an added segment I’d never heard but is TOTALLY what we’re feeling. “Whenever God Closes One Door, He Always Opens Another, Even Though Sometimes It’s Hell in the Hallway”. We’re still in the hallway! 😦

Tuesday morning after MUCH procrastinating I FINALLY decided it was time to color again. I decided to do something I would throughly enjoy! That was to make a book of my favorite images! For Magnolia that took no thought at all. From the minute I saw “Spring Bundler” I loved her. Quite a difference of coloring from the first one I colored. 🙂 She’s here. Although, I still like the card!

If you know me at all then you know that the color peach, orange has to be involved!! I just look at it and smile!!!! It makes me happy!!

Randy’s Valentine’s Day Card

I have to say I have never been so late making cards as I have this year. It throws me off with Mady’s birthday so close to Valentines. Maybe next year at this time I can hand deliver them!!!!!! 🙂

I started this card around 9 this morning. All the while feeling like I’m getting Mady’s RSV adult version. Ick!!! Why is it every time we go I pick up her germs???? No immune system I guess or is it I hardly go anywhere?? LOL

I liked this Saturated Canary image Love Letters. I’m always in jeans and making cards. 🙂 So I felt the perfect image for my card for Randy.

Perfect Card For Mady Entering The Terrible Two’s

First of all sorry for the first email. Apparently, I rolled over the publish button and it published it before I was done. GRRRRRR!!! I guess WordPress was so excited that this will be my 100th post they couldn’t wait to publish it!! LOL

As soon as I saw the “It’s My Party” from LOTV I KNEW this was perfect for a two years birthday card!! She is definitely a strong-willed child! She can hold her own at daycare. It sounds like it’s a dog eat dog world there. YIKES!!! Prepares them for life that is for sure.

This card in no way turned out like I had planned it! It just took on  a life of its own! Somedays that happens. I’m very happy with how it turned out though.

Madyson’s Four Drawer Christmas Card/Project

I have to say the last three Christmas projects have required a great deal of time. I also have to say they have been the most gratifying projects I’ve done too! I’ve been wanting to make one of these Four Drawer projects for a long time.  Since I knew that Drew was going to be taking it back to school with him I knew I had the time to make it. Definitely will do it again!! I found the tutorial here. There are going to be a lot of pictures so I’ll get right at it. I have to say this was one of the hardest project to photograph.

The first with the easel card closed.

Second is front view of drawer.

Third is easel open view.

Fourth is a side view.

Fifth is a view of two of the drawers.

I’m finally done with Christmas! I have my next project ready to go but life has sure been getting in the way. LOL I was going to take the tree down today but it’s already 3:30. Yikes where has the day gone????

I started a facebook page Friday. I’m still very undecided if that was the right move or not. For the most part I am a very private person. I guess time will tell if I keep it.

As always thanks for stopping to visit with me for a while. I feel like friends stopping for a cup of coffee, or in my case a raspberry chai. My biggest addiction in life!! My hubby would disagree and say crafting is my biggest addiction. LOL What can I say I have a number of addictions I guess.

Hugs,

M

P.S. We’re looking at the middle to end of Feb for my stove and refrig. They gave us two dates. I’ll be singing “Hallelujah” when I get them. Oh yes, last Friday the furnace quit working. It’s only 18 years old and there are no parts out there. Luckily, they just had to flip a switch and it started up agin. They gave us a bid for a new one. Oh dear!!!

Randy’s Christmas Box Card

Randy knows how to apply the pressure. As he saw me making Drew’s Book Card he said his has to be an even better project!!! I had an idea in the back of my mind. When I was looking through the “Chocolate Dreams” Magnolia Ink magazine I saw two projects that instead of the book used a box. As my idea developed the box was perfect for what I wanted to do. I used the older Mistletoe Tilda. I have never used her and thought she was so cute.
