This is the year my friends and I turn 60. Where has the time gone?? Some days I feel like I just graduated from high school. Then there are days when I feel each and every day since high school.
I used “Ellie’s Birthday” from Saturated Canary.
It is finally feeling like Summer this week. Temps in the 80’s. It’s warm enough that I planted my flowers. WaHoo! Now we need to figure flowerbeds and then have hubby build them. We do need to have some bushes and flowers maybe then it would feel like a home.
Much to my hubbies disgust I have found a new hobby to try. Making jewelry!! 🙂 I guess we’ve gone to the Black Hills to many times that I have fallen for earthy-looking jewelry. I’ll post a pic when I get something made.
Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Also many thanks for the love you leave.
Have a good week.
June is always a busy month of birthdays for me. Three birthdays three days in a row. I made the cards in May so I wouldn’t be so pressured when the time came. First up is my oldest sisters birthday. I used Saturated Canary “Sisters & Friends” for both of my sisters which I do not see in her shop anymore. 😦
Next is sister Deb’s card.
Third is my friend Linda. Her card is “Sybil” from Home Grown – Sugar Nellie. For some reason the minute I saw this image years ago I thought of Linda. So years later I finally make it for her.
Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for awhile. As always, thank you for the love you leave!
Have a great week!

I had so much fun making Madyson’s birthday card. This card suits her to a tee. She loves the outdoors! I have quite a few pics today so will get right at it.
A side view so you can see the dimension of it.
Last weeks DLP was using “under paper.” I use old brown paper bags so didn’t have paper. I do use a lot of baby wipes that I have spread out to dry. Journal Prompt was “what lies beneath”. I decided that I would go with the theme of the masks we hide behind. My right page is of a Mardi Gras mask. I used a feather die to cut feathers out of my baby wipes. Then strings for the mask. That was a lot harder as the wipes like to rip easily. My left page is a poem I found on the internet that I feel is too personal to share. Hence, I covered it up.
I have three Valentine’s to show you in a few days. I had a blast coloring again! I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I will be enjoying my beautiful roses Randy brought for me today at noon.
As always thank you for stopping and visiting with for a while and for leaving some love.
Isn’t it funny how life works out? Week 4 background pages were my least favorite. I don’t quite have the hang of the letting inks run down from the top of the page. I added white pearl thinking how awesome it would look. Instead it came out silver! Compared to the silver this is white.
I also used my deli paper that I had used with the gelli plate. Cut out snowflakes. Ok, they blended right into the background. Finally got them to stand out a bit. So fun to learn what is working and what isn’t.
I have to say the three images I used have turned out to be some of my favorites.
LOVE Winter Fairy Halla from Mo Manning! She was the epitome of what this Winter was for us. Weeks and weeks of temps in the -50º to -60º wind chills. I wish you could see the beautiful sparkle on her wings, pom-poms and leggins. Also on the puff of breath. Used some Stickles on wings and breath too.
Here is a close-up of Halla
LOVE, LOVE this Winter Window from Mo.
Tip-in page is Hot Cocoa from Saturated Canary. You were supposed to write a secret message and then paint over it and leave one word unpainted. I’ll write the word back in when I do my journaling.
Yes, Linda I had to get some orange in here somewhere. 🙂
I’m jumping ahead to the current challenge and will hopefully get two done a week to catch up. Yah, right! 😉
Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while today. Always appreciate the love you leave.
I tried something I’ve never done before and that is merging digi images. The Make It Crafty image was easy as pie. They come with both a PNG and a JPEG. My Home Grown Sugar Nellie was a different story. It was so old that it was only a JPEG. There are many tutorials out there but, I still had trouble with it. Finally, after much trial and error I made my image into a PNG from a JPEG! I like it when things come together.
I used Sunflower Garden from MIC and Victoria (full body) and Victoria (just head) images from Home Grown Sugar Nellie. Love the Home Grown images! For some reason when I combined the two images I had a terrible time trying to get them in focus when I took the pics. So, the final pics really do not do the finished card justice. At least I don’t think so. 😉
I made this card for Sandy. She is one of the sweetest persons I have ever met! Actually, we haven’t met in person. The wonder of cyber friends. I think it is so awesome to have friends all over and still feel they are a friend. She has such a wonderful outlook on life. She leaves the most awesome comments that lift you up. Always has an encouraging word when you’re not quite sure it turned out like you thought it would.
Anyway, she sent me a box of soooo many awesome goodies to try with Art Journaling. I can’t wait to get at them. I may quickly sneak a page in to try them, before I start coloring images to put in my Smash book I’m taking to journal our trip to Montana.

Sandy, Thank You sweet lady for your generosity! Love it all!
Have a great week everyone. Now I’m off to color images for my Smash book.
I wanted to make the guys a special project this year for Christmas. Drew’s project is in the previous post. Randy’s is a Kathy Orta waterfall pocket album. I loved doing these special projects for them. I used SEVEN Magnolia images on it.
The morning I got up to do this project I told myself I was trying all sorts of new things I’d never done before. So I’ll get right to it.
I used Merry Christmas Tilda for the cover. I also used TH mini poinsettia die along with Magnolia’s swirl die. I have watched Zoe’s videos on how to color folds but just didn’t get the hang of it. I have the Magnolia “Sweet Christmas Dreams” 2011 magazine and it has an article in it by Zoe on page 54. I feel the information just clicked for me. So here is my first attempt at folds.
In the first pocket I used Magnolia’s Fir in Snow. I’ve always loved this image. I guess my love of pine trees coming through. My first attempt at night sky. I also used the MS pine needles edge punch on the pocket.
Next up are more folds in Tilda’s apron using the Tilda with Christmas Tree.
Randy always puts the Christmas tree lites on so I had to use Lighting Edwin. More folds on the jeans. I used the large holiday lites punch on the pocket.
For the last pocket I used three images. Tilda with string of glitter, tighter folds, Tilda decorates Christmas tree, I did this image three times grrrrr and the Christmas tree.
Shot of how the album looks.
Thanks for sticking with me on such a long post. The album has two more sets of pages so the album is a work in progress.
Have a wonderful 2013! Thank you for leaving all your wonderful comments they are truly appreciated!
