Wow! This is going to be one loooooong winter here. So far, we have received 46.9″ of snow in December. We had a blizzard starting Christmas Day going into Monday. So both guys were home as nothing was moving that day. We have a tunnel to get out of our driveway. Next week we start the sub-zero temps for the forseeable future. On to better things, here is Randy’s Christmas card. I used Christmas Lights Sprite from Aurora Wings. I had so much trouble with the finishing of this card. I kept working on it for days adding things here and there. I used the lights punch from EK Success. Colored them with copic markers and finished them with Diamond Glaze. Everything else was from the Tim Holtz lines. The window die, Merry Christmas Stamp, brick stencil which I then used texture paste. I used Distress Inks on the bricks to highlight them.
Inside the card is the image.
Drew’s card is next. I used Chill from Mo’s Digital Pencil. Love this image as this is how we feel here until about June 1st. I kid you not. I used Cotton Ball white Fun Flock for all his fur. I masked the image and sprayed Marshmallow Glimmer Mist all over the background and used Wink of Stella clear on the steam coming out of his mouth.
The dots that look yellow are not that color in IRL. They are a beautiful sparkle like the rest of the card.
May all of you have a wonderful 2017!
Thank you for all the times you have visited with me over 2016. Know that each time was appreciated. See you next year!
This was a milestone birthday for Drew this year. He turned 30! Where has the time gone? It feels like it was in the blink of an eye. As a parent we always feel like no matter how old our children become they are still our little boy. I just couldn’t pass on this image from Saturated Canary. It is “My Boy“. It was sooo Drew. He had favorite blankets and a bear when he was small so this image was “perfect”.
Drew had a 3-day weekend so we took off for the Black Hills for some warmth and for the relaxing beauty of the Hills. We went to a few places we have never been before so that was fun. The Northern Hills had snow, that is always beautiful out there. Southern Hills were pretty much snowless. We did some hiking so that was wonderful to be out in the fresh pine-filled air. Of course, the day we left it was supposed to be 70º. Isn’t that the way it goes? We did eat outside one day as it was warm enough.
I used Tim Holtz “Happy Birthday” from the “Just Sayings” stamp set. Also the hinge was from the “hardware findings” die.
Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Always appreciate the love you leave.
I had so much fun making Madyson’s birthday card. This card suits her to a tee. She loves the outdoors! I have quite a few pics today so will get right at it.
A side view so you can see the dimension of it.
Last weeks DLP was using “under paper.” I use old brown paper bags so didn’t have paper. I do use a lot of baby wipes that I have spread out to dry. Journal Prompt was “what lies beneath”. I decided that I would go with the theme of the masks we hide behind. My right page is of a Mardi Gras mask. I used a feather die to cut feathers out of my baby wipes. Then strings for the mask. That was a lot harder as the wipes like to rip easily. My left page is a poem I found on the internet that I feel is too personal to share. Hence, I covered it up.
I have three Valentine’s to show you in a few days. I had a blast coloring again! I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I will be enjoying my beautiful roses Randy brought for me today at noon.
As always thank you for stopping and visiting with for a while and for leaving some love.
My last two Christmas cards are for Randy and Drew. For Randy I used the digi “The King” from Saturated Canary. I didn’t want to make an ordinary card so came up with the idea of making a stable. It took me a couple of trys but I finally made what I thought looked like a stable.
The first picture is of the card shut.
The second is the open card.
Drew’s card is “Tree Blueprint Stamp & Die” set from Sizzix. There are many layers to this card.
Thanks for stopping and visiting for a while. Always appreciate the love you leave.
Off to start 2015 Documented Life Project. Doing some collaging this week. I’ve never done that so should be interesting. If the pages turn out ok I’ll post them. 😉
Have a great weekend!
Every time a new release comes out I think they can’t be as cute as the last ones! Every time I’m wrong because they just keep getting cuter!! I did 2 of the 3 images. The first one is Catching Snowflakes! How many times as a kid did we stand outside in the falling snow trying to catch snowflakes on our tongue!!! If you look really close you can see that I put a snowflake on her tongue.
As you can see I went all out with the glitter!!! I also put Fun Flock on her hat and hood. I used Crystal Lacquer on her boots.
If possible I went even more crazy with glitter on Ice Dancer!! Even put Stickles on the flowers and Let It Snow sentiment. Linda, I would like you to note that I had the option of using orange and used pink instead!!! 😉
I hope I’ve given you some inspiration. I know I really had fun with these two cards!
Thanks for stopping and visiting a while with me. I appreciate the wonderful comments you leave me.

What can be better than an orange and blue color combo!! You have to know I love this card! LOL My sister and her hubby have been building a house in the same city as my niece (their daughter) her hubby and of course, our precious Madyson! They are down to the wire and packing like madmen!! The movers are coming on my B-I-L’s 60th birthday! Yep, my sister, hubby and B-I-L all had 60th birthdays this year! All different families. No, I am not near 60! A few years to go yet. 🙂
Anyway, I digress. I thought this might be the perfect birthday card for him as they are racing to get moved and had wanted to be in by his birthday. Notice I did the image out of the nestie technique. I really wanted him to look like he was zooming for the finish line! I found this sketch on Bev Rochester’s blog. Anywho, here’s my card.
Yesterday I talked about our maple tree out in our front yard. So Christina here’s a picture of it.
Usually this tree is full and beautiful in the Fall. The drought this last Summer and then the hail last week was pretty hard on it. A lot of the leaves fell off while they were still green. My mums this year were just out of sight. They are HUGE it took a whole sheet to cover one mum when we were having freeze warnings.
One last photo of the view I have every day outside my studio window!
