Usually I just make Mady a card because Drew is one of her Godparents. I keep hearing how excited Sydney gets when Mady gets her card. Since we saw both little sweeties this Summer when we all got together for my birthday in August. I decided to make her one too. Also sent some Halloween cards to my nephew’s two sweeties. Saw them this Summer too for the first time in a loooong time.
Just a quick story from this Summer. We had hiked down to a beautiful waterfall in the Black Hills. Steep with lots of roots, wet and slippery. Should give you an idea how treacherous the trip up was. Jacob was holding my hand the whole time. Going as fast as a young kid can, dragging me behind. :o) We get to the top and I’m panting trying to get my breath back. Jacob stops and looks at me and asks, “do you want to run now”? Between laughing and gasping for breath I said, “no, I don’t want to run now”. He looks at me and says, “that’s ok I’ll walk with you”. You just have to love to the little guy! 🙂
Anywho here is Sydney’s Halloween card. I used Treats from Saturated Canary. It was fun coloring her with her green skin.
Here is Mady’s card. I used Hazel digi from Wee Stamps. It’s been so long ago I think this is where I bought it from.
Now, I have to get started with Christmas cards. Still am working on my Wine Journal and 60th Birthday Trip book. When I get some images colored I’ll post them.
Thanks for visiting and leaving a little love.

This is the year my friends and I turn 60. Where has the time gone?? Some days I feel like I just graduated from high school. Then there are days when I feel each and every day since high school.
I used “Ellie’s Birthday” from Saturated Canary.
It is finally feeling like Summer this week. Temps in the 80’s. It’s warm enough that I planted my flowers. WaHoo! Now we need to figure flowerbeds and then have hubby build them. We do need to have some bushes and flowers maybe then it would feel like a home.
Much to my hubbies disgust I have found a new hobby to try. Making jewelry!! 🙂 I guess we’ve gone to the Black Hills to many times that I have fallen for earthy-looking jewelry. I’ll post a pic when I get something made.
Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Also many thanks for the love you leave.
Have a good week.
I had sooo much fun making this book for Drew’s Christmas card/present. It took me a good couple of weeks to make! It was truly a labor of love! I found the directions here for making the paper bag book. This is going to be a long post with lots of pics so grab some coffee. For me, it’s a mug of raspberry chai!
The main thing for this pic is I made the background paper using the faux leather technique found here. This was so much fun to do! Really makes an awesome paper.
Left side of all the pages will be a pocket page with a tag in them that has a Bible verse on it.
Mary & Joseph
Little Shepherd Boy
Three Wee Kings
Pine Cone Wreath
Also in the pocket of the bag that each image was glued to had a large tag that had various things typed on them. The Nativity, Psalm 23, and other favorites. Also a tag for memories of 2012 Christmas.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was very quiet. After almost 11 months of unemployment we did not make a big deal with Christmas. Here’s hoping 2013 will be better.
I want to take this time to thank you for coming and spending time with me over 2012 and for all the wonderful comments you have left. They mean the world to me.
Next will be Randy’s card/present. I used 7 Magnolia images on his project.

I made this Halloween card using all TH dies and one stamp. I really like how it turned out. Life was a little stressful here so I forgot to take a pic of it. So I had Drew take a pic at school for me. I think he did a great job.
We’ve got a refrig reflection thing going on. LOL I’m not complaining at all as he told me all the stuff he had to remove off the top to take the pic. I have the most supportive guys of my hobby! I hope they know how much I appreciate them!! Drew took three pics but I don’t care to have my sloppy writing showing so will just share the easel back. LOVE the easel back!
- Dies: Rickety House, Branch Tree & On the Fence – TH/Bats & Ghosts – QK’s
- Distress Inks: scattered straw, wild honey, spiced marmalade, rusty hinge & black soot – moon colors
Once again I took pics of our maple out front and my gorgeous mums. They look like a small bush!!
I guess it has been to long since I posted I had a heck of a time with pics! I’d put one in and the other would disappear! I made Drew a “Just Because” card and am waiting for him to get it then will post it. All things I’ve never done before. I really liked it!
Thanks for visiting with me and leaving your love. I always appreciate you taking the time to do that.
Have a great rest of the week!

I can’t believe I have one Halloween card done! This is a first for me. Maybe it’s because we are approaching my favorite season. I call it the “Season of Orange.” Wahoo!! I can’t wear orange and I don’t have any orange in my house. I can color it though!!
Fly Girl is such an adorable image. I just love her! Here she is.
Here is the back. I loved this saying that was in the Oct 31st paper pad from Fancy Pants Designs. I didn’t want to cut it out of the piece of paper so did it on the computer. I thought it was perfect!
I have little Sydney’s card all planned out to do next. Then they can be mailed together to the girls.

As always thank you for visiting and leaving a little love! Have a wonderful weekend!
I keep thinking the next image can’t be as cute as the previous one. When I get done I then think “wow, this one is my favorite”. Crazy, I know!
Since life has handed us a bushel of lemons in the past 4 1/2 months I have made a lot of lemonade and lots of lemon recipes!! The recipe I was going to make yesterday turned out to be a lot of in the frig to chill. I decided against it. Instead I made Meyer Lemon Squares. I’ve made many different lemon bars, this recipe called for lemon curd. It’s the second time I’ve made it. It requires cooking and constant stirring on the stove. Oh, so worth it! I put cut up strawberries on each bar before I served it. The guys LOVED IT!! Ok, on to my page.

Since we are quickly approaching Summer I decided to make a couple more of the fruit girls from Mo: Peaches and Watermelon!!
Thanks so much for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Always appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment.
I’m back to working on My Favorites Book again. I’ve been trying a lot of new recipes and have loved this image since I bought it years ago! Of course, I had a plan before I colored her up. On the two page layout I’m using this one and then the next image will be Mo Mannings, Lemons.
I have really gotten into using Meyer lemons. They aren’t as sour as regular lemons. I’m not big on sour. I’ve made a lemon tart, lemon creme brulee, lemon madeleines, old-fashioned lemon sugar cookies, (the guys went ape over these!). When the weather cools from the 90’s on Tuesday! I want to bake a lemon curd & strawberry sunburst tart. If you love to cook and bake from scratch like I do I heartily recommend “Luscious Lemon Desserts” by Lori Longbotham! All of the above recipes came from this book. There are so many more I want to do!
The recipe I used with my image is not her’s. I went with a Martha Stewart that was online.
