It feels like forever since I’ve done anything to post. Before I know it another week has passed and I’ve accomplished nothing. June has three birthdays one right after the other in the first week. So I had fun doing three completely different cards. Each one for what I thought they would like. The first card was for my sister. She loves robins and can’t wait for Spring when they come back. Tammy Tutterow had a tutorial on a speckled egg background. Perfect! I had my eye on another of her tutorials and it was perfect for this card also.
The next card is my other sisters birthday card. Deb loves Gerber Daisies so I used Memory Box “Glorious Gerber Daisies” die. I learned this technique from Annette a friend from Iowa when we lived there. I have to say it took me quite awhile to do this card. There were a lot of pieces to assemble!
I didn’t have the Papertrey Ink linen impression plate for the background so I quick ordered it but it didn’t arrive in time for this card. Will definitely do this technique again. Yes, Linda, I couldn’t make three cards and not have any orange on them. 🙂 The third card was for Linda another friend from Iowa. I also made a faux Midori book for her.
Linda is a Tim Holtz fan so I found this idea here. I made a card instead of a recipe box. I used Memory Box “Ariel & Lunette butterfly” dies for the butterflies. I had a lot of fun making this card. Here is a side view.
Here is the faux Midori book.
Over Memorial Weekend we went to Bismarck. On our way home Monday we saw our first moose. We were so excited. People have been seeing them in the city but we haven’t seen them. Happy to finally see one. They are HUGE!
Thanks for visiting and leaving some love. It’s always appreciated.
It has been so long since I’ve posted it’s like starting over again. First of all Happy New Year to everyone! My hope for you is to have the most creative year ever. I really hope to get back to card making this year. I have a lot of birthday cards to make. All my friends and I turn the big 60 this year. First one is in January so have to get right at it after the holidays.
We had one of the nicest Christmas’ in a long time. Loved everything I received! Every picture I took of my son he had his eyes open. Usually I have to take 10 to get one with his eyes open.
I’ll divide up my Christmas cards into two posts. I still exchange cards with two friends from Iowa so will show theirs and my niece’s daughters card on this post.
First is Linda’s Christmas card. She’s a big Tim Holtz fan so I used the Blueprint Snowman and die set for hers. You won’t be able to see but it is all layered up.
Next is Annette’s Christmas card. She is the best at creating elegant CAS cards. I saw card she had on her Pinterest page that I loved and actually had the stuff to make it. CAS but an elegant card. I did change it a little bit by making the star gold. I tried glitter first. I didn’t like it. But think I should have added more layers of glitter. I may try it next year.
Last but not least is the card I made for Mady for Christmas. I used “Christmas Angel” from Saturated Canary.
That’s it for me today. Thanks for looking and leaving a little love. I always appreciate it!
I wanted to make the guys a special project this year for Christmas. Drew’s project is in the previous post. Randy’s is a Kathy Orta waterfall pocket album. I loved doing these special projects for them. I used SEVEN Magnolia images on it.
The morning I got up to do this project I told myself I was trying all sorts of new things I’d never done before. So I’ll get right to it.
I used Merry Christmas Tilda for the cover. I also used TH mini poinsettia die along with Magnolia’s swirl die. I have watched Zoe’s videos on how to color folds but just didn’t get the hang of it. I have the Magnolia “Sweet Christmas Dreams” 2011 magazine and it has an article in it by Zoe on page 54. I feel the information just clicked for me. So here is my first attempt at folds.
In the first pocket I used Magnolia’s Fir in Snow. I’ve always loved this image. I guess my love of pine trees coming through. My first attempt at night sky. I also used the MS pine needles edge punch on the pocket.
Next up are more folds in Tilda’s apron using the Tilda with Christmas Tree.
Randy always puts the Christmas tree lites on so I had to use Lighting Edwin. More folds on the jeans. I used the large holiday lites punch on the pocket.
For the last pocket I used three images. Tilda with string of glitter, tighter folds, Tilda decorates Christmas tree, I did this image three times grrrrr and the Christmas tree.
Shot of how the album looks.
Thanks for sticking with me on such a long post. The album has two more sets of pages so the album is a work in progress.
Have a wonderful 2013! Thank you for leaving all your wonderful comments they are truly appreciated!

I had sooo much fun making this book for Drew’s Christmas card/present. It took me a good couple of weeks to make! It was truly a labor of love! I found the directions here for making the paper bag book. This is going to be a long post with lots of pics so grab some coffee. For me, it’s a mug of raspberry chai!
The main thing for this pic is I made the background paper using the faux leather technique found here. This was so much fun to do! Really makes an awesome paper.
Left side of all the pages will be a pocket page with a tag in them that has a Bible verse on it.
Mary & Joseph
Little Shepherd Boy
Three Wee Kings
Pine Cone Wreath
Also in the pocket of the bag that each image was glued to had a large tag that had various things typed on them. The Nativity, Psalm 23, and other favorites. Also a tag for memories of 2012 Christmas.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was very quiet. After almost 11 months of unemployment we did not make a big deal with Christmas. Here’s hoping 2013 will be better.
I want to take this time to thank you for coming and spending time with me over 2012 and for all the wonderful comments you have left. They mean the world to me.
Next will be Randy’s card/present. I used 7 Magnolia images on his project.

There is nothing that says the “Holiday Season” has started than Poinsettia’s and pine! I’ve made two cards and I have to say they are two of my favorites and I will probably make them again. I made the cards for two friends from Stamp Club. They were here for lunch today as I won’t be here for the Christmas Party we have every year.
The first card is Annette’s and I used the Memory Box poinsettia stamp and die.
Next is the card I made for Linda. I used the Pinecone Wreath stamp from Hero Arts. I love this stamp!
Since Christmas will be very slim this year I’m making the guys a special project and that’s probably all I’ll get done.
Have a good one!
