June is always a busy month of birthdays for me. Three birthdays three days in a row. I made the cards in May so I wouldn’t be so pressured when the time came. First up is my oldest sisters birthday. I used Saturated Canary “Sisters & Friends” for both of my sisters which I do not see in her shop anymore. 😦
Next is sister Deb’s card.
Third is my friend Linda. Her card is “Sybil” from Home Grown – Sugar Nellie. For some reason the minute I saw this image years ago I thought of Linda. So years later I finally make it for her.
Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for awhile. As always, thank you for the love you leave!
Have a great week!

I did another Sugar Nellie, this time it was Summer. I can feel her dress blowing against her legs. Even though she has an umbrella I don’t feel she’s in the rain. Maybe it’s because we’ve had unrelenting sunshine this summer but I thought she should be outside with her umbrella in the hot, hot August day. I just had to make a sunburst background for that unrelenting heat! 😉 You may need your sunglasses. LOL
I’ve had more fun making this book! I have 5 more pages to go and I’m already planning my next book! I can’t decide if I want to just make a guys book or have a co-ed book? Leaning more towards a co-ed book. Also using pattern paper in that book and a little more embellies. On to my stats.

No “PEACH” on this page Linda!! LOL
This could so be me when I was a child. My mom was an avid gardener so we always had flowers growing. I fell in love with Melissa from Sugar Nellie the minute I saw her. Of course, she had to be in my book of favorites! !!
Today has been a good day. A GREAT day would be hubby getting a job. He received an email today they had received 172 applications. They had expected 72! It is TOUGH out there in the job market today. Anyway, on to my good day. Last week I had won a Diana Mini camera from Satured Canary’s blog. I received it in the mail today. After my post I’ll go learn how to use it. I also have a Big Train Raspberry Chai addiction. I had run out and re-ordered some yesterday from a company in New Jersey. I was totally SHOCKED when the UPS man pulled up today at 1! I have never gotten it in 24 hours!
Ok, here’s my newest page for my book.

I just love, love, love Nathan from Sugar Nellie. The minute I saw him I knew I had to color him up! He just reminded me so much of Drew when he was little. He was never far from a stuffed animal. LOL! The look of total innocence in his eyes. I don’t know the image just tugged at my heart-strings. So here is my Nathan.
I wanted a very clean card to just show off the image. The paper has very little pattern to it and I thought it was perfect for what I was trying to achieve.
Stats for my card.
- Stamps: Nathan – Sugar Nellie Digi/Cherish – Words We Love – Technique Tuesday (Love their stamps)!/Distressed Background – Stampabilities
- Paper: Kraft/Assorted from the Rec Room Collection – Chatterbox (Love their paper but I don’t know if they are still in business).
- Inks: Aged mahogany – DI sponged all the edges of the Kraft and a little bit of the image paper. It’s such a dark color I didn’t get to carried away with it.
- Flesh: E000 E00 E11
- Hair: E41 E57 E47
- Top: B000 B00 B02 B04
- Bear: E50 E51 E53 E11 E13 E15 E18
- Outline: C0 C2 C3
I have been wanting to color Nathan up for so long and finally had the time to do it. Thanks for stopping and visiting for a while. Thanks for the encouragement that you leave! It’s always appreciated!
Have a great weekend!

I have never had images touch me so much as the Sugar Nellie digis Hope, Faith, Grace, Joy, Verity, Connie and of course Nathan. The pure innocence of their expression. Or maybe their names that give us hope in a troubled time. Or maybe that Nathan reminds me of when Drew was young and innocent and the ugliness of the world hadn’t touched him yet. Or the fact that Hope could be our very own Makayla. This image is her twin. All in our family have looked at the image and immediately said “it could be Makayla”! So of course I had to make her a Birthday card using Hope.
I have done something I rarely do and that is use ribbon, flowers, pearls and made a very girlie card. It seemed so fitting for “Hope”. This card was a sheer joy for me to make I “Hope” some of that rubs off on you too.
For the flower I used crinoline and tulle to make it. I have a whole new-found respect for seamstress’! Every time I thought I had the tulle in the wastebasket there it was on my hand again!!! The tutorial is here. Next time I want to dye it. There wasn’t a Distress Ink to match my aqua.
