Christmas Cards For My Guys

Wow! This is going to be one loooooong winter here. So far, we have received 46.9″ of snow in December. We had a blizzard starting Christmas Day going into Monday. So both guys were home as nothing was moving that day. We have a tunnel to get out of our driveway. Next week we start the sub-zero temps for the forseeable future.                                                                                                                           On to better things, here is Randy’s Christmas card. I used Christmas Lights Sprite from Aurora Wings. I had so much trouble with the finishing of this card. I kept working on it for days adding things here and there. I used the lights punch from EK Success. Colored them with copic markers and finished them with Diamond Glaze. Everything else was from the Tim Holtz lines. The window die, Merry Christmas Stamp, brick stencil which I then used texture paste. I used Distress Inks on the bricks to highlight them.

Inside the card is the image.

Drew’s card is next. I used Chill from Mo’s Digital Pencil. Love this image as this is how we feel here until about June 1st. I kid you not. I used Cotton Ball white Fun Flock for all his fur. I masked the image and sprayed Marshmallow Glimmer Mist all over the background and used Wink of Stella clear on the steam coming out of his mouth.

The dots that look yellow are not that color in IRL. They are a beautiful sparkle like the rest of the card.

May all of you have a wonderful 2017!

Thank you for all the times you have visited with me over 2016. Know that each time was appreciated. See you next year!

Sydney’s Birthday Card

I have another card. Shocking isn’t it! 🙂 I have looked at this Mo Manning “Summer Girl” for a couple of years and thought this would be the “perfect” image for Sydney! She has the little pigtails and wears adorable little sundresses. Even looks like her. I finally bought the image a couple of weeks ago. So here she is.

Three Birthday Cards

June is always a busy month of birthdays for me. Three birthdays three days in a row. I made the cards in May so I wouldn’t be so pressured when the time came. First up is my oldest sisters birthday. I used Saturated Canary “Sisters & Friends” for both of my sisters which I do not see in her shop anymore. 😦

Bev's B'day

Next is sister Deb’s card.

Deb's B'day

Third is my friend Linda. Her card is “Sybil” from Home Grown – Sugar Nellie. For some reason the minute I saw this image years ago I thought of Linda. So years later I finally make it for her.

Linda's B'day

Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for awhile. As always, thank you for the love you leave!

Have a great week!

Three Valentine’s Day Cards

After I got my cards made for the guys I decided I had time to make Mady a card too. I used the digi “Love Heart” from Mo Manning. What an adorable image!

Love Heart

Drew’s card is “Harriet Heart” from Saturated Canary. I don’t see it in the shop anymore.

Harriet Heart

Mady’s card I used “hugs & kisses” from Saturated Canary. Always loved this image. Cute, cute!

I had a blast making these cards.

Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Thanks for the love you leave! Have a great week everyone.

Week 3 DLP Journal with Jo Painting

Where do the weeks go? They fly by so fast. I had a real block on this one. The Art Challenge was “The Color Wheel”. I really didn’t want to do a traditional color wheel. I ended up using all warm colors on the left page and all cool colors on the right page. I really like how they turned out. Very bright and vivid. No surprise here but I LOVED my left page. 😉                                                                     The Journal Prompt was a Georgia O’Keeffe quote. I used it as I really liked it. My image is “Jo Painting” a Mo Manning digi.                                                                  Okay, here is where I went down hill. I could not for the life of me figure out what to do with the cool page. I finally decided to stay with the O’Keeffe theme. I Googled SW images and found this adobe house I liked. (It came from this book “Ceremonial Costumes of the Pueblo Indians” by VIRGINIA MORE ROEDIGER who also illustrated it. Need to give credit due to her.) I used my fake gelli plate  (ceramic tile) and tried to do an adobe colored background. Then printed out the image on the deli paper. It looks like the ink smeared but it didn’t. Just how it was drawn. Not thrilled with my page but we headed to the Black Hills last weekend for a three-day weekend so didn’t have time to dink around with it.

Week 3 Left Page

Week 3 Close-up

It was soooo good to get away as we hadn’t gone anywhere since early November.  Way overdue for a trip. It was well after one in the morning before we settled down and got to sleep Friday night. Saturday night we had neighbors from HELL! From 3:00AM until 5:30 they talked and laughed!!! We called the front desk at 4:30 to complain she said she would call them after she finally answered the phone after it rang for minutes. We never heard the phone ring and it was an hour later before they shut-up!                                                                                                                     Went to the front desk in the morning to see if they were checking out. If they weren’t we were. It was the sweetheart that had checked us in Friday night working. They were checking out and she’d make sure no one was put in that room Sunday night. Also was going to put the night clerk on report for failing to do anything about it. Hope she gets fired!!!! Sunday we drug ourselves around as we were sooooo tired! We went to bed at 9, of course, it was 10 our time. Temps were in the 60’s!! Felt like heaven!

Buffalo  Love going on Custer State Park Wildlife Loop. The buffalo were just chillin’. We did a few hikes in the park we’ve never done before. Only bad thing it takes heat to make the pine trees smell so no smell.                                                                Here it is Thursday and I haven’t even started Week 4 yet. 😦                                     Have a great day everyone! Thank you for stopping awhile and thanks for the love you leave.

Week 4 DLP Used 3 Very Fun Images

Isn’t it funny how life works out? Week 4 background pages were my least favorite. I don’t quite have the hang of the letting inks run down from the top of the page. I added white pearl thinking how awesome it would look. Instead it came out silver! Compared to the silver this is white.

I also used my deli paper that I had used with the gelli plate. Cut out snowflakes. Ok, they blended right into the background. Finally got them to stand out a bit. So fun to learn what is working and what isn’t.

I have to say the three images I used have turned out to be some of my favorites.

LOVE Winter Fairy Halla from Mo Manning! She was the epitome  of what this Winter was for us. Weeks and weeks of temps in the -50º to -60º wind chills. I wish you could see the beautiful sparkle on her wings, pom-poms and leggins. Also on the puff of breath. Used some Stickles on wings and breath too.

Week 4

Here is a close-up of Halla

Week 4-2

LOVE, LOVE this Winter Window from Mo.

Week4 3

Tip-in page is Hot Cocoa from Saturated Canary. You were supposed to write a secret message and then paint over it and leave one word unpainted. I’ll write the word back in when I do my journaling.

Yes, Linda I had to get some orange in here somewhere. 🙂

I’m jumping ahead to the current challenge and will hopefully get two done a week to catch up. Yah, right! 😉

Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while today. Always appreciate the love you leave.

Page 7, Watermelon Girl

This is the last food image for my book. Summer and watermelon just go together. We have had temps in the 90’s and high humidity so summer is here, whether I like it or not. Where, oh where, is my cool mountain air????

Last summer when my sister and her family were here I made a Watermelon Granita! Loved it! It is the most wonderful thing on a hot summer day. Mady loved it. She wanted more! It is the stickiest stuff though!!!

I thought this frame was perfect for this image. I wanted it to look like watermelon slices all around her.

Randy wants Boston Cream Pie and potato salad for Father’s Day so I’ll be in the kitchen  for a while. 🙂 So won’t be coloring for the next few days.

My computer is doing a service battery thing so we’ll see what happens there. My computer has my life on it. A new battery is not a high priority when you’re unemployed so if you don’t see me for a while you know what happened.

Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Love your comments!!
