I had a lot of fun making this card for Randy. I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it. I did have to experiment a little before I got it right.
I used pretty much all tim Holtz stuff for the card. The background is TH “On the Go” texture fades. I used the “Fresh Brewed” die set using acetate for the cup. I used acrylic paint on the back to get the coffee color. I also used the frosting from the cupcake stamp set for caramel-laced whipped cream. For the straw I used an actual Starbucks straw and ran in through the machine with the “Fresh Brewed” die. I also used a square punch for the ice cubes and dabbed white acrylic on the squares.
We went to the Black Hills in South Dakota for a three-day weekend for Father’s Day. It started out pretty hairy. For most of the 6 hour drive down there we had tornado warnings, grapefruit size hail and 90mph winds. Luckily, we were about 20 miles north of all this. Still made it hairy as at one point it was coming directly at us. We took the fast route down that way has two towns! Pretty much in the wide-open space and nowhere to go. Arrived safe and sound!
We had a wonderful time and the smell of pine was just amazing!!
Have a great week and thanks for stopping!
I had so much fun making Madyson’s birthday card. This card suits her to a tee. She loves the outdoors! I have quite a few pics today so will get right at it.
A side view so you can see the dimension of it.
Last weeks DLP was using “under paper.” I use old brown paper bags so didn’t have paper. I do use a lot of baby wipes that I have spread out to dry. Journal Prompt was “what lies beneath”. I decided that I would go with the theme of the masks we hide behind. My right page is of a Mardi Gras mask. I used a feather die to cut feathers out of my baby wipes. Then strings for the mask. That was a lot harder as the wipes like to rip easily. My left page is a poem I found on the internet that I feel is too personal to share. Hence, I covered it up.
I have three Valentine’s to show you in a few days. I had a blast coloring again! I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I will be enjoying my beautiful roses Randy brought for me today at noon.
As always thank you for stopping and visiting with for a while and for leaving some love.
I’m stuck on the fishing theme for Drew! He does love fishing so it’s easy to come up with a card for him. At least it is different than last years!! It’s a beautiful day here, the sun is shining and finally it’s not a hurricane out there!!!
We’ll have our usual birthday feast for him. (He’s home on Spring Break). It’s always meatballs, mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Instead of a birthday cake he wants chocolate Whoopie Pies!! I LOVE them too!!!!!! We had the real thing out in Maine last summer when we went to visit Emily. LOVE THEM! LOVE THEM!!!

Tomorrow a couple of friends from Stamp Club are coming over for lunch so we can catch up on what everyone has been doing over the last few months! I can’t wait to see them again!
Some of you may know that we have joined the growing ranks of the unemployed. It totally turns your world upside down. You learn to live day by day or at times hour by hour. I probably will not be posting much in the future. I will continue to check out everyone’s blog but some days just not up to commenting. Keep up the beautiful work everyone!!
Thank you for stopping to visit with me! I always appreciate the love you leave.
Here we are at my favorite time of year! I love Fall – all the beautiful earth colors and the warm days and cool evenings. Ahhhh, perfect! When you think of Fall you think of pumpkins! I fell in love with Autumn Friends right away. The 28th of September they will be at the Love to Stamp store. You can also keep up with the new products by going to the Love to Stamp Store Blog. Don’t forget right now we have the Red/Brown Challenge going on at the Little Darlings Challenge Blog until the 27th of September.
You probably have never seen a cat on my blog. Ok, that’s a hangover from childhood. My sister Bev loves cats!! Me, not-so-much. She drug those cats/kittens everywhere. They rode in doll buggies, baskets on bicycles, wore clothes. You get the picture! The day cats and I parted company was the day mom discovered Bev BRUSHING THE CATS TEETH!!! My question has always been but to afraid to ask was, “WHOSE TOOTHBRUSH WAS SHE USING”????? If any of you are the youngest you know the grief heaped on us! 🙂 I think you know what I’m gettin at here. At this point I REALLY DO NOT want to know!!! As soon as I see a cat I still think toothbrush! LOL! If you haven’t figured it out the image also has a cat. So this is my first time coloring a cat and facing my phobia. 🙂
I just think this is such an adorable image. I can hear the cat purring.

Ok, this should be a really hard one for anyone to guess what that would be!! Yes, Linda, I can hear you laughing and shouting “ORANGE”! Orange with some blue, green and yellow. Really all the earth tone colors would work. LOL
So ladies let’s see your favorite colors on a card or project for the next challenge. It will be from June 22 – July 12th. You can use any stamps and post them on the Little Darlings Challenge Blog.
Onto my card. I just loved this image as soon as I saw it. The look of pure joy on her face! I knew exactly how I wanted to do the card and for once it turned out that way. I used ”Just Swingin” you can find it here at the Love to Stamp Store.
