Drew’s Birthday Card

This was a milestone birthday for Drew this year. He turned 30! Where has the time gone? It feels like it was in the blink of an eye. As a parent we always feel like no matter how old our children become they are still our little boy. I just couldn’t pass on this image from Saturated Canary. It is “My Boy“. It was sooo Drew. He had favorite blankets and a bear when he was small so this image was “perfect”.

Drew's B'day

Drew had a 3-day weekend so we took off for the Black Hills for some warmth and for the relaxing beauty of the Hills. We went to a few places we have never been before so that was fun. The Northern Hills had snow, that is always beautiful out there. Southern Hills were pretty much snowless. We did some hiking so that was wonderful to be out in the fresh pine-filled air. Of course, the day we left it was supposed to be 70º. Isn’t that the way it goes? We did eat outside one day as it was warm enough.

I used Tim Holtz “Happy Birthday” from the “Just Sayings” stamp set. Also the hinge was from the “hardware findings” die.

Thanks for stopping and visiting with me for a while. Always appreciate the love you leave.

  1. You did an excellent job with the coloring, Myrna. I loved the layout you did, as well. It was obviously made with a mother’s love.

  2. Love the birthday card! Very cool how it turned out, love the colors and how you designed the card!

    Love always,
    Andrew

  3. Another beautiful piece of art from you !!! Everything about it is perfect. The color combination is so masculine . Love al he embellishments.

  4. What can I say sis?? It is what I would call “PERFECTION!!! Mere words cannot describe the beauty in your coloring and the layout. Yep, I know I’m rarely speechless. And you are so right that the teddy bear and blanket is so Andrew when he was a baby and toddler. Of course, red is another of my favorite colors so it screams loud and clear–“I love it.” What is the technical term for the light shading around the picture? Just so curious how you accomplished that professional look. Your hinges rock as I had to enlarge the card to check those out—–your embellishments ALWAYS heighten the attractiveness of your detailed cards. So happy that Andrew was able to CELEBRATE for 5 days. His birthday surprise at work was AMAZING! He deserves only the best!!!!

  5. So very pretty – what great colors!
