Thank You For Eric & Kate

by Myrna

Ok, this land-locked Midwesterner totally lost my heart to a Hinckley – SW70!!! While we were in Maine, Eric took us out in his boat for a tour of the Southwest Harbor, Somes Sound and Northeast Harbor area on Mount Desert Island. I found my sail boat there!!! I’ve looked at the Hinckley website and I’ve come to the conclusion that MY sailboat was a custom order. As it looked twice as long as their biggest at 70′! Just GORGEOUS with it hunter green and all that beautiful wood. I can just see myself standing on the deck with the wind blowing my hair as we sail along! I’m in love!!! Now to just figure out where the roughly $10,000,000 will come from to pay for it. Ahhhh, reality STINKS!!!!! The front of the card is for Eric since it has to do with boats. I tucked a map of the area behind the image along with the Tide Table for the day we went on our boat ride.
The inside is for Kate. I used Blueberry Tilda for that. It was around peak blueberry season when we were there. Kate had bought some and made a Blueberry Buckle for dessert the night we were there. Let me tell you they are not the same blueberries we get here in the Midwest!!! We liked them so well that on  our way home we bought two containers of them. Ok, not a brilliant move on our part. Have you tried to get two containers of blueberries 1,600 miles without them getting wet and yet still kept cool!!! In and out of motels and trying to keep the cooler straight in the car. For the most part they survived. Not quite the beautiful berries we bought but still out-of-this-world-delicious!!!
We had a wonderful time in Maine and so appreciated all the time everyone spent with us. Wonderful memories!
Now, if only this land-locked person can get over the love of MY sailboat!!! I dream about it!! Ahhhh!!!!
Ok, enough on to my stats.

  1. You did a super job with the coloring. The photo is good but in real life the images look 3D. Outstanding layout of the card, as well. It may take a few years of savings for that boat, though.

  2. WOW! These are two really adorable cards!! Your coloring is amazing!! TFS!

  3. Myrna Lynn, I decided that you are just TOO COOL and talented. I bet Randy is right on with the images looking 3D. WOW!!! Your coloring, Daily Tide Table, and map are the amazing, special added touches that make one go, “She did it again.” That twine in the upper left-hand corner really ties it all together-get the pun??? And your waves were identical to the real life waves on your post. I could actually here them splashing—–COOL!!! Of course, when I spied Blueberry Tilda in her orange shirt and rolled up blue jeans I just squealed-she is quite stunning with her scalloped apron holding her DELICIOUS blueberries. Your blueberry experience managed to get me hungry for a fresh blueberry pie or Blueberries In the Snow!!! YUM!!!

  4. Myrna, A great card, beautiful boat, your coloring and layout is just perfect and oh heck, if you love the boat, go get it, you only live once!! Absolutely love the twine and the way you did the knot is great so perfect for this card. The inside is really a beauty and the blueberries are so perfect go along so well with the Blueberry Tilda and you did a splendid job coloring her and those berries.. This card is supurb…
    Hugs, Jean

  6. We’re land-locked here too. A sailboat would be fun. Too stinkin’ hot still. Your card is so cute. I love Tilda and her blueberries!

  7. Your card is a wonderful thank you and they are sure to appreciate your thoughtfulness!
We looooove Maine-have been there for one week each of the past nine summers and the whole state has won our hearts-we don’t want to go south when we retire-we want to go north!

  12. Fabulous card, Myrna!! Love the LOTV image on the front and you’ve colored it beautifully! And of course Tilda is gorgeous with her big basket of blueberries! Sounds like you had a divine time! For the boat, make sure you dig under the car seats and in the bottom of your purse! Those two places are always good for some money! 🙂
    hugs, Sharon

  13. Cute card! I love both the inside and the outside!

  14. I love the sailboat card! That little tyke is just too cute! You colored it perfectly! Next, there’s our little gal who was out picking blueberries – perfect! You colored her so beautifully! I really love that you posted your Copic colors, too! Thank you! I always like the ability to refer to someone else’s pen choices for things like the skin and hair. Great job on both, Myrna!
