Pleats or Ruffles Little Darlings Challenge

by Myrna

I used All For Me from the new Christmas stamps for my card. They are adorable and are available right now at the Love to Stamp Store. Here is a picture of them.

I did my usual clean and simple card. It’s really to bad you can’t see that I sponged spun sugar on the edges of the poinsettia and then sprayed Iridescent Gold Shimmer Mist on it. Gorgeous IRL!

The “Pleats & Ruffles” challenge will run from now until September 13th on the Little Darlings Challenge Blog. So ladies get your thinking caps on and make a prize-winning card!!!

Angie has some new products that are truly wonderful! Love the Scor-Buddy for making perfect fold lines! I love the Scor-Tape if you want it to stick this is for you! It also comes in the 1/2″ size. I use the 1/4″ all the time myself. This next product the No More Shims Embossing MatI don’t have but sounds wonderful for embossing without all the shims.

I can not belive that August is coming to a close already. We actually had our vacation without any broken toes this year!!! Yeah!! We went to see a friend in the Mount Desert Island area in Maine. By the time we got home we had driven over 3,600 miles!! Between Iowa and Maine you can go broke paying for all those toll roads! We named our GPS lady Myrtle. She can tend to get on your nerves as she doesn’t like it when you deviate from her route. LOL We did that quite often!

We took a side trip to Niagara Falls and it quickly became the highlight of the trip. Well worth it. Drew is not fond of heights so it took some convincing to get him on the bridge over part of the river. It is about 10-12 stories high. He did it and even went to the edge!!!

For the first time in years we were actually home for my birthday so what did we do but get in the car and head to Des Moines for the day!! Insane! In a few days we head for South Dakota to get Drew set up for another year at college. Then I have no intention of going anywhere for the rest of the year!!

Have a great day! Thanks for the lovely comments you leave I always appreciate them.

  1. Cute Christmas card !!! Can’t wait to see the poinsetta IRL so I can see the detail. Like Pam, you are getting a head start on your Christmas cards.

  2. That is a cute card. Your coloring is great. It sounds like you had a great vacation. Waiting for the next idea and post.

  3. Your card turned out great. The glimmer mist shows up on my computer screen, so hopefully, others can see the effect, as well. The pleated Christmas tree band in the middle really helps to set the tone for the card. The poinsettia gave the card a nice added touch. Great job of coloring, too.

  4. Your elegant Christmas card certainly has me all excited about out first Christmas in our new house!! It really set the mood for me in August in SD. Now that’s an accomplishment sis. Your coloring is perfect and the stack of packages really made me laugh out loud. That’s exactly how it is done every Christmas-from our kids to now our grandkids. The white poinsettia is real enough to want to touch as it shimmers, “Christmas is coming everyone.” I have some beautiful white poinsettias that I will be sure and move to SF with us so I can decorate with them. Your new Christmas stamps are just too cute and perfect for the Blessed Season fast approaching. CONGRATS for sharing your expertise.

  5. Awesome job coloring and designing this card!! Love how this Christmas card turned out:) Another great job!!!!

    Love always,

  6. Great Job Myrna.. Love your pp and your little boy holding too many packages.. love how you blended your colors.. the pleated paper in the middle is just great and you did a perfect job on it.. Love the poinsettia and how it shimmers… beautifully done…
